Music
I have been very lucky to be able to work as a composer and sound designer. It is amazing to be able to do what you love. I have been luckier still to work with some incredible musicians over the years. For three different projects I got to work with Melbourne Symphony which is a world class orchestra and a fantastic bunch of people. It is incredibly humbling to have your music performed by people with so much talent. Here are the three orchestral projects I have worked on and some non orchestral pieces at the very bottom.
Jurassic Park Operation Genesis
Jurassic Park Operation genesis was Stephan's first opportunity to work
with a real orchestra. It was recorded over two days in Melbourne at ABC's Southbank Studio. The music was performed beautifully by Melbourne Symphony conducted by Graham Abbott.

The Polar Express
Working concurrently with the film makers Polar Express was a challenging project. There was no Film music produced at the time Stephan was working on the game score so all the music was completely original in style. This is unusual for a film franchise game as usually they need to stylistically match the film. The Polar Express game score was recorded by Melbourne Symphony conducted by Brett Kelly.

Nicktoons Unite
Spongebob is always fun, but when combined with a collection of other Nicktoons characters and it was an opertunity to go a little crazy with the different music styles. Often writing music for the minor chracters was surprisingly more fun.

Personal Works
Temple grounds in Sannohe
After over ten years writing music for other people's projects a colleague asked me if I had ever written any music for myself. Initially I really didn't understand what he was asking, I had written lots of music, some of which I was quite proud of but he was right, I had never actually sat down and written music just for myself, just because I wanted to. Living in Japan gave me both the time and the inspiration to do just that. It was hard not to be inspired by Japan, there were so many beautiful places. I may one day compile them into an album, for now here are some pieces I wrote just because I wanted to.
